Infocom is pleased to announce the launch of its VoIP service, the first of its kind in Uganda. It is easy to install, inexpensive to set up and with it you can make low rate international calls to many destinations worldwide.

Voice over IP protocol

Voice over IP protocol (VoIP) allows you to make telephone calls using data or computer networks like the Internet. With VoIP you can make phone calls using the internet as the communication media, rather than standard telephone lines. You can make and receive calls from other VoIP users, mobile telephone networks and ordinary landlines.

how it works

VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into digital data packages that travel over the Internet and are converted back at the other end into voice to a computer phone or standard telephone networks.

requirements

This product is available to customers with broadband internet connection. You can purchase a VoIP hardware phone (IP phone) or use a soft phone computer application in conjunction with a head set on your computer.

installation

A Talklite VoIP phone application can be downloaded from this website, just follow the instructions to install it to your computer. Otherwise, if you prefer, you can contact us and we will send a technician to install it for you, or an IP phone which can be purchased through us as well.
